ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 31, 2015 — Florida Realtors® has honored Danny Smith, a member of the Realtors® Association of Lake and Sumter Counties, with its 2015 Commercial Realtor Achievement Award. The award was presented at the state association’s recent 99th annual Convention & Trade Expo at Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Fla. Smith is a broker-associate and vice president of Smith & Smith Realty in Wildwood, Fla.
For his local association, Smith established the Commercial Information Exchange in 2009, the Commercial Committee in 2012 and a Commercial Information Exchange, which is about to become district wide.
At the state level, he helped form Florida Realtors commercial law class, update the state association’s vacant land contract and establish the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) – Realtor Land Institute (RLI) marketing session at both the Florida Realtors Mid-Winter Meetings and annual Convention. He is the current Florida Realtors District 7 vice president and a member of its Board of Directors.
Smith was the president of the Florida chapter of the Realtor Land Institute in 2007 and 2008. He also has served NAR as a member of its RLI Board of Directors. The national RLI recognized Smith as “The 2012 Land Realtor of America.”
In the community, Smith chairs the Sumter County Enterprise Zone Development Agency Committee and is heading up a new building project for his church. He serves on the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and as a board member for PALMS (Performing Arts of Lake, Marion and Sumter).
