ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 31, 2011 – Kathleen Gallagher McIver, sales associate, RE/MAX Town & Country Realty in Winter Springs, has been installed as District 12 vice president of Florida Realtors®, the state's largest professional association. Gallagher McIver will serve her fellow professionals in District 12, which encompasses Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties. She is a member of the Orlando Regional Realtor Association.

"There will always be people moving and buying houses in any market, and market activity will remain solid in 2011," says Gallagher McIver, who is active in residential brokerage and relocations.

In the community, she is a director on the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission, vice president of the Emergency Medicine Learning & Resource Center, and an advisory board member of Pathways to Home, which seeks to find housing for homeless children in public school systems.

As district vice president for the state association, Gallagher McIver will focus on enhancing Florida Realtors' services and support for real estate professionals. "By developing their knowledge and skills, our members can deliver an invaluable real estate experience to the consumer," she says.

Gallagher McIver adds that Realtors must continue to be leaders in their Florida communities. "Our members are involved in schools, churches, homeowner associations, public offices, non-profits, the arts and innumerable charitable organizations," she says. "We are parents, leaders, coaches, participants and community advocates. Florida is a stronger state because of its Realtors!"
