ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 31, 2011 – Mike Ferrie, sales associate, PrimeSouth Properties Fezler, Russell & Ferrie Inc. in Tallahassee, has been installed as District 8 vice president of Florida Realtors®, the state's largest professional association. Ferrie will serve his fellow professionals in District 8, which encompasses Holmes, Washington, Jackson, Calhoun, Liberty, Gadsden, Leon, Wakulla, Jefferson, Madison, Taylor, Lafayette, Gilchrist, Levy and Dixie counties. He is a member of the Tallahassee Board of Realtors.

"I see 2011 as a tremendous buyers market, as the inventory of foreclosures and short sales will continue to increase," says Ferrie, who specializes in residential brokerage, new construction and property management.

A leader in regional and state real estate organizations, Ferrie is a former president of the Tallahassee association and has been active on a number of committees. In addition, he was named its "Realtor of the Year" in 2005. He was also a director of the state association and chair of the MLS (Multiple Listing Service) Forum. In the community, Ferrie is active in the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, Habitat for Humanity and Relay for Life.

As district vice president for the state association, Ferrie will focus on enhancing Florida Realtors' services and support for real estate professionals. "Our members should take advantage of current market conditions to retool their professional knowledge and skills," he says.

Ferrie adds that Realtors must continue to be leaders in their Florida communities. "Our members are making a difference every day by advising consumers on local market conditions and helping families achieve their dreams," he says.
