Boca Raton Realtor® Wins 2011 Realtor Achievement Award

ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 31, 2011 -- Andrew Barbar, broker-owner with Keller Williams Realty Service in Boca Raton and a member of the Realtors® Association of the Palm Beaches (RAPB), has been recognized by Florida Realtors® as the winner of its 2011 Realtor Achievement Award. The award was presented during the state association’s recent 95th annual Convention & Trade Expo at Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Fla.

The Realtor Achievement Award honors one Realtor serving in the capacity of manager, broker of record or officer of their company. This award covers the previous three years’ contributions to the community, local, state and national Realtor associations.

On the local level, Barbar was instrumental in the merger of two local Realtor organizations into what became RAPB, as well as the reorganization of the Regional MLS of Florida. In 2006, he was honored as his local association’s Realtor of the Year.

He has served on or chaired numerous committees on the local, state and national level, and was the District 3 vice president for Florida Realtors in 2007. Barbar worked tirelessly for Florida Realtors to encourage support – and subsequent passage – of legislation enabling portability of the Save Our Homes property tax exemption. He is the current chair of the state association’s Local Board President Information Exchange, and has been a member of NAR’s Board of Directors since 2003.

A dedication to his community also defines Barbar. Some of the groups benefiting from his energy and generosity include: Sheridan House, Habitat for Humanity, Home Safe of Palm Beach County, Boca Helping Hands and 4Kids Foster Care. For his contributions to the real estate profession and the community, Andrew Barbar has been honored with one of the state association’s top awards.
