Publication Honored for Writing, Design Excellence
ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 12, 2013 — Florida Realtor, the Business Magazine of Florida Real Estate and monthly trade publication of Florida Realtors®, recently won four awards in the 2013 Florida Magazine Association’s (FMA) competition.
Under writing excellence, Florida Realtor won a Charlie Award, the competition’s top honor or gold standard, for Best Department (Makeover) in its Trade/Technical category. The magazine also received a Bronze Award or third place for Best Department (Market It).
Judges also recognized the magazine for design excellence. Florida Realtor won a Silver Award or second place for Best Cover (October 2012 issue) and a Bronze Award for Best Department Design (Tech and You).
“Our goal is to offer a magazine that is relevant, timely and has valuable information that helps our Realtor members improve their business,” says Laurie P. Neiman, chairman of Florida Realtors Communications Committee for 2013 and a New Port Richey Realtor. “We’re proud of Florida Realtor magazine and honored by these awards. It’s been a great year for us – Florida Realtor also recently was recognized nationally, winning the top honor as Best External Publication (Online or Print) in Ragan Communications’ 2013 PR Daily Awards. Our magazine works so well because it’s a collaborative effort between our Realtor members and our talented staff.”
The Florida Magazine Association represents the state’s publishing industry with more than 200 association, trade/technical and consumer magazines. Nearly 700 entries were submitted for this year’s Charlie Awards contest from publications produced in Florida. Awards were presented during FMA’s 2013 Publishing Conference & Expo, Aug. 1-2, at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
