Fort Lauderdale Realtor® Is President of Florida’s Largest Professional Association
ORLANDO, Fla. – Summer J. Greene, regional manager of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Florida 1st in Fort Lauderdale, is the 2012 president of Florida Realtors®, the state’s largest professional association with more than 115,000 members
“The Florida market has turned a corner, and while there will be challenges along the way, it’s only going to get better,” says Greene, who is active in residential and commercial brokerage and holds the Certified Residential Broker (CRB) designation. “I also see some opportunities in the commercial market where prices are starting to appreciate a bit.”
A leader in local, state and national real estate organizations, Greene is a former president of the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Lauderdale and has chaired and served on numerous committees since 1994. In 2003, she was honored as her association’s “Realtor of the Year.” In the community, she has been a board member for Reliance Housing Development.
On the state level, Greene served Florida Realtors as secretary in 2008, treasurer in 2009, vice president in 2010 and president-elect in 2011. A director since 2001, she has been active on numerous committees, subcommittees and forums. Greene has also been a director of the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) since 2001, serving on the Professional Standards and MLS [multiple listing service] Issues & Policies committees.

As president of the state association, Greene will focus on enhancing Florida Realtors® services, support and advocacy programs for real estate professionals. “In an election year, our advocacy work is likely to take center stage,” she says. “It’s important for our members to be leaders in supporting property rights, mortgage lending and other proposals that can have a direct effect on our state’s housing market.”
