Carlos Fuentes, commercial director, Keller William Tampa Properties in Tampa, has been installed as District 6 vice president of Florida Realtors®, the state's largest professional association. Fuentes will serve his fellow professionals in District 6, which encompasses Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties. He is a member of the Greater Tampa Association of Realtors.
"Multifamily rentals will be doing very well in 2011," says Fuentes, who is active in commercial brokerage. "Many investors are looking for deals this year, and property management may be another area of opportunity."
A leader in regional, state and national real estate organizations, Fuentes served as president of the Tampa association in 2007, and is a former chair of the International Council. He was 2009-2010 president of My Florida Regional Multiple Listing Service (MLS). He has also served as a director of the state association and was vice chair of the 2008 International Forum. Fuentes was chair of the National Association of Realtors® International Networks Advisory Group in 2008 and was regional coordinator for North America, Central America and the Caribbean. He serves as NAR Executive Committee Liaison to the Global Business and Resort and Second Home Real Estate Group.
Locally, Fuentes is a director of Habitat for Humanity Hillsborough County. He is also a certified federal court interpreter.
As district vice president for the state association, Fuentes will focus on enhancing Florida Realtors' services and support for real estate professionals. "Our members should take advantage of current market conditions to re-tool their professional knowledge and skills," he says.
Fuentes adds that Realtors must continue to be leaders in their Florida communities. "Our members are consistently active at a local, state and national level in building stronger communities," he says. "The amount of volunteer work that Realtors do in the community is amazing."
