Orlando Realtor® Takes Office As Treasurer of Florida’s Largest Professional Association

ORLANDO, Fla., January 2010 – Dean Asher, broker/owner with Don Asher & Associates Inc. in Orlando, has been installed as the 2010 treasurer of Florida Realtors®, the state’s largest professional association with more than 115,000 members.

“We are seeing great opportunities for buyers throughout the state, including bank-owned properties,” says Asher, who is active in residential brokerage, property management and commercial brokerage. “For instance, we have resort and condominium properties that make great investments for international buyers.”

A leader in regional, state and national real estate associations, Asher is a former president of the Orlando Regional Realtor Association and was its Realtor of the Year in 2004. He also received the Presidents Award in 2000 and 2005. He has chaired and served on numerous committees for the association since 1995.

On the state level, Asher served as a district vice president in 2004. He has been a director since 1998, serving on a long list of committees for Florida Realtors. He has also been a director for the National Association of Realtors (NAR) from 2005-09.

Asher is an active leader in the Orlando community as well. He was chair of the city’s municipal planning board from 2006-08 and continues to serve on the board. In addition, he has been a director of the Central Florida Fair since 1998 and was president in 2009. The Boy Scouts are also important to Asher; he was an Eagle Scout and is an active volunteer with the organization.

As treasurer, Asher says one of his goals is enhancing products and services for members. “We want to provide Florida Realtors with valuable tools that will help them grow their business in any market,” he says. “Our legislative agenda is also an important priority, as we continue to advocate on behalf of our state’s property owners.”
