Ocala Realtor® Takes Office As Secretary of Florida’s Largest Professional Association

ORLANDO, Fla., January 2010 – Sherri L. Meadows, broker-owner, Meadows Realty Inc. in Ocala, has been installed as the 2010 secretary of Florida Realtors®, the state’s largest professional association with more than 115,000 members.

“There are excellent homes available throughout Florida at all price ranges,” says Meadows, who is active in residential brokerage, residential sales and property management. “It’s a particularly good market for first-time homebuyers and international and domestic investors. There are also excellent opportunities in the commercial sector, including bank foreclosures of offices, shopping centers, warehouses and other properties.”

A leader in regional, state and national real estate associations, Meadows was 2002 president of the Ocala/Marion County Association of Realtors. A member of the association since 1982, she has served on numerous committees and task forces.

On the state level, Meadows has been a director since 2003, serving on multiple committees and receiving the Realtor Achievement Award in 2007 from Florida Realtors. She is a former state president of the Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR). Meadows is also a director of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and is a graduate of NAR’s Leadership Academy.

In 2009, Meadows was appointed to the Marion County Land Development Regulation Commission and to the board of Florida Health Choices Inc. In the past, she was active with the Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce and the Dixie Paint Horse Club.

As secretary, Meadows says, her priority is providing additional value to association members. “We want to increase our services, and be sure Florida Realtors know about the many benefits we offer,” she says. “We have an opportunity to become a ‘dashboard of information’ in a digital age – not just for our members, but for the consumers we serve.”
