Longwood Realtor® Installed As District Vice President of Florida’s Largest Professional Association

ORLANDO, Fla., January 2010 – Steven W. Moreira, broker-owner, Magic Properties and Investments Inc. in Longwood, has been installed as District 12 vice president of Florida Realtors®, the state’s largest professional association. A member of the Central Florida Commercial Association of Realtors, Orlando Regional Realtor Association and the West Volusia Association of Realtors, Moreira will serve his fellow professionals in District 12, which encompasses Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties.

“With low home prices, stable interest rates and the extension of the federal tax credit for buyers, we expect strong sales activity in our district’s residential market,” says Moreira, a 34-year real estate veteran who is active in commercial brokerage, property management, consulting and advisory services to Wall Street clients. “This will be a challenging year in the commercial sector, especially for lenders.”

A leader in regional, state and national real estate organizations, Moreira was 2008 president of the Orlando association. On the state level, he has been a director since 2005, and been active in the Commercial Alliance Council. He has also been a director of the National Association of Realtors from 2005-2009 and served on several committees. Moreira, a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), has served in every leadership position of the Florida CCIM Chapter, including president in 2003. He has also held leadership positions in CCIM on a national level. In 2005, he received the Hank Thomson Award for “Florida CCIM of the Year,” and in 2008 he was honored with the “Realtor of the Year” award from Florida Mortgage Bankers Association.

In the community, Moreira is a member of the Probus Italian American Club and the German Club. He is active in the Mortgage Bankers Association, Urban Land Institute, National Association of Government Leaders, International Council of Shopping Centers and Florida Home Builders Association.

As district vice president of the state association, Moreira’s priorities include communication and advocacy. “Becoming involved in local, state and national issues has never been more important than it is today,” he says. “We must continue to coordinate our resources in order to make a positive difference in neighborhoods and communities throughout the state.”
