Fort Lauderdale Realtor® Takes Office As Vice President of Florida’s Largest Professional Association

ORLANDO, Fla., January 2010 – Summer Greene, regional manager with Prudential Florida 1st Realty in Fort Lauderdale, has been installed as the 2010 vice president of Florida Realtors®, the state’s largest professional association with more than 115,000 members.

“Today’s Florida real estate market offers wonderful opportunities for investors looking to lock in the lowest real estate pricing in a decade, and homebuyers who can now buy affordable homes again,” says Greene, who is active in residential and commercial brokerage and holds the Certified Residential Broker (CRB) designation. “One of our challenges is to raise the availability of financing for the condominium, investment and secondary home market.”

A leader in local, state and national real estate organizations, Greene is a former president of the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Lauderdale and, since 1994, has chaired and served on numerous committees. In 2003, she was honored as her local association’s Realtor of the Year. In the community, she has been a board member for Reliance Housing Development.

On the state level, Greene served Florida Realtors as secretary in 2008 and treasurer in 2009. A director since 2001, she has been active on numerous committees, subcommittees and forums. Greene has also been a director of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) since 2001, and serves on the Professional Standards and MLS [multiple listing service] Issues & Policies committees.

As vice president, Greene is focusing on enhancing member services. “We continue to improve our wide array of professional benefits,” she says. “Our initiatives this year include a new not-for-profit scholarship program, inbound trade missions, fresh new professional development courses, video conferencing and more.”
