Fort Lauderdale Realtor® Installed As District Vice President of Florida’s Largest Professional Association
ORLANDO, Fla., January 2009 – Christine Hansen, broker/owner of Century 21 Hansen Realty Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, has been installed as District 11 vice president of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association. A member of the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Lauderdale and the South Broward Association of Realtors, Hansen will serve her fellow professionals in District 11, which encompasses Broward County.
“The biggest challenge will be how to combine the two associations’ efforts to continue to offer the best products and services to the members in the current market,” Hansen says. “I think it is very important for associations to bring tools to their members to help them stay relevant in this marketplace.”
The owner of three residential and commercial brokerages and a licensed agent since 1987, Hansen served as 2007 president of the Fort Lauderdale association. She has been active in the group’s various committees since 1994, has served on numerous FAR committees since 2003 and been involved with the National Association of Realtors (NAR) since 2005.
A graduate of the 1993 Leadership Development Program at her local association, Hansen also is a long-time community volunteer. She worked with Easter Seals in 1996-98 and 2003-07; Kids in Distress in 1990-94; Challenge Air in 2001, 2002 and 2006; Henderson Mental Health Center in 2003-08; and is currently a “Hope’s Hero” for Broward House, an assisted living facility for those with substance abuse and mental health issues. She also sponsors education for three children in Cambodia.
As FAR district vice president, Hansen will rely on her 22 years of experience in the real estate profession to guide others. She notes that when she first entered the business, times were tough for the real estate industry.
“I was able to create a business plan for myself that allowed me to thrive,” she says. “If we look more for the opportunities, we can see our way through and come out even stronger and more profitable.”
The Florida Association of Realtors®, the voice for real estate in Florida, provides programs, services, ongoing education, research and legislative representation to its 125,000 members in 67 local boards/associations throughout Florida
