Citrus County Realtor® Installed As District Vice President of Florida’s Largest Professional Association
ORLANDO, Fla., January 2010 – Thomas “Tom” McMurray, broker, Keller Williams Realty of Citrus County in Lecanto, has been installed as District 7 vice president of Florida Realtors®, the state’s largest professional association. A member of the Realtors Association of Citrus County, McMurray will serve his fellow professionals in District 7, which encompasses Lake, Sumter, Hernando, Marion and Citrus counties.
“With low home prices, stable interest rates and the extension of the federal tax credit for buyers, we expect strong sales activity this year in our district’s real estate market,” says McMurray, who is active in residential brokerage and property management.
A leader in regional and state real estate organizations, McMurray served as 2008 president of the Citrus County association. He has been a director since 2006, and served as chair of the membership, awards, education and budget committees. In addition, he founded the Realtors Institute of Citrus County in 1998 and was chief instructor for the school.
On the state level, McMurray has been a member of the state and local taxation, and professional development committees, as well as the first Leadership Academy.
In the community, McMurray serves on the board of the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce and the Citrus County Sheriff’s Citizen’s Academy. He is also a member of the Citrus County Stakeholders Advisory Group and the Citrus County Long Range Transportation Plan.
As district vice president of the state association, McMurray plans to focus on educating and empowering members for success in a changing real estate market. “Our association has an extensive array of tools to help real estate professionals build their businesses, while assisting homebuyers and sellers in achieving their personal dreams,” he says.
