Pensacola Realtor® Installed as District Vice President of Florida’s Largest Professional Association
ORLANDO, Fla., January 2007 – Pamela Smith, sales associate, Real Estate Counselors, Inc. in Pensacola, has been installed as District 9 Vice President of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association. A member of the Pensacola Association of Realtors®, Smith will serve her fellow professionals in District 9, which encompasses Bay, Walton, Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties.
“The real estate challenges facing our region include affordable homeowner insurance, especially for waterfront properties,” she says. “Many buyers are hesitant to purchase waterfront home because of the high cost of insurance.”
Active in residential brokerage and corporate relocation, Smith is a former president of the Pensacola association, former president of the local chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors and a former FAR director. She is also a Florida Supreme Court State Certified Mediator, a Relocation Certified Coordinator, a member of the Council of Residential Specialists and a member of the Pensacola Chamber of Commerce.
Smith brings extensive industry experience to her role as FAR District Vice President. “I plan to emphasize the power of professionalism,” she says. “I am always looking for better ways to help sales professionals serve their customers.”
As a FAR vice president, Smith will focus on Realtor® education, training and involvement in vital housing-related issues in the region. As real estate professionals, Realtors® seek to improve the availability and affordability of housing, while helping people from all walks of life achieve the American dream of homeownership.
The Florida Association of Realtors®, the voice for real estate in Florida, provides programs, services, ongoing education, research and legislative representation to its 170,000 members in 68 local boards/associations throughout the state.
