Jupiter Beach Realtor Takes Office As 2007 Secretary of Florida’s Largest Professional Association
ORLANDO, Fla., January 2007 – Patricia “Pat” Fitzgerald, broker-owner of Coastal Properties in Jupiter, has been installed as the 2007 Secretary of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association with more than 165,000 members.
A member of the Jupiter-Tequesta-Hobe Sound Association of Realtors®, she has served her local association in many ways, including as president in 1992 and as the Regional Multiple Listing Service president twice – in 1995 and in 2004. On the state level, Fitzgerald has served FAR in numerous capacities, including as the 2006 chairman of the Public Policy Committee and as a District Vice President in 1996. She is a director for the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) and served as chair of NAR’s Communication Committee in 2006.
She is a member and past president of her local chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors, as well as a member of the state and national chapters of Certified Residential Specialists (CRS) and Certified Residential Brokers (CRB).
In the community, Fitzgerald belongs to Leadership Palm Beach County and supports the Heart Association, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and her local Chambers of Commerce. She also participates in local election campaigns and government issues campaigns. She is President-elect of Executive Women of the Palm Beaches.
Looking ahead to the coming year, Fitzgerald says it is important to encourage Realtors to participate in public policy issues and be part of the effort to combat rapidly rising property insurance and property taxes. And, in today’s changing real estate market, “FAR needs to continue to offer members products and services that will help them be more successful in any market,” she says.
The Florida Association of Realtors®, the voice for real estate in Florida, provides programs, services, ongoing education, research and legislative representation to its 170,000 members in 68 local boards/associations throughout the state.
