Lake City Realtor® Installed as District Vice President of Florida’s Largest Professional Association

ORLANDO, Fla., January 2007 – Stan Batten, broker-owner, Stan Batten Real Estate in Lake City, has been installed as District 1 Vice President of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association. A member of the Lake City Board of Realtors®, Batten will serve his fellow professionals in District 1, which encompasses Flagler, Putnam, Alachua, St. Johns, Clay, Bradford, Union, Baker, Hamilton, Suwannee, Columbia, Duval and Nassau counties.

“The biggest challenges we have are affordable housing for first-time homebuyers, including teachers, nurses and law enforcement officers,” he says. “We also need more government cooperation and citizen participation in growth management and land use planning.”

Active in residential brokerage and development, Batten served as 2006 president of the Lake City board and has been a FAR director since 2005. He is also a member of the Lake City/Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, Lake City Kiwanis Club and Lake City Elks Lodge and an active supporter of “Reading to the Dogs,” a volunteer program involving elementary school children. 

Batten brings extensive industry experience to his role as FAR district vice president. “I am motivated by a desire to help people,” he says. “It is a great feeling knowing that you have found the right home or property that fits the individual’s need and budget.”

As a FAR vice president, Batten will focus on Realtor® education, training and involvement in vital housing-related issues in the region.
