Fort Walton Beach Realtor Installed As 2006 Secretary
of Florida’s Largest Professional Association
ORLANDO, Fla. — Robert “Bob” S. Hudgens, broker-owner, Century 21 Coastal Realty Services in Fort Walton Beach, has been installed as the 2006 secretary of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association with more than 155,000 members.
A member of the Emerald Coast Association of Realtors, Hudgens has served the local organization in numerous capacities, including as president in 2001. He was named its Realtor of the Year in 2004. On the state level, Hudgens has represented his regional area as district vice president, and served on many major committees, including as the current chairman for FAR's Ambassador Council and as vice-chair for the Property Management Council. He is also a trustee and vice-chair for FAR's Disaster Relief Fund.
He takes an active interest in his local community. He is a senior member and past president of the Fort Walton Beach Kiwanis Club, a past chairman and member of the city's board of adjustment and serves on the board of directors for his church. Recently appointed to the Boys & Girls Club Foundation, he is also an involved parent and business member participating on the advisory councils for his children's schools.
Looking ahead to the coming year, Hudgens says it is important to encourage Realtors to become involved in community concerns and participate in public issues efforts. “By working together and speaking with one voice, Realtors can have a very positive influence in building better communities,” he says.
The Florida Association of Realtors, the voice for real estate in Florida, provides programs, services, continuing education, research and legislative representation to its more than 155,000 members in 68 boards/associations.
