Tallahassee Realtor® Elected District Vice President
of Florida’s Largest Professional Association

ORLANDO, FL — Penny Herman, Broker, Penny Herman Realty, Inc. in Tallahassee, has been elected District 8 vice president of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association. A member of the Tallahassee Board of Realtors®, Herman will serve her fellow professionals in District 8, which encompasses Holmes, Washington, Jackson, Calhoun, Gulf, Franklin, Liberty, Gadsden, Leon, Wakulla, Jefferson, Madison, Taylor, Lafayette, Gilchrist, Levy and Dixie counties.

“We have different types of challenges in our diverse region, such as hurricane recovery issues in the Panhandle,” Herman says. “In Tallahassee, we are facing lack of inventory and affordability issues. We are seeing many homebuyers move into neighboring counties and commuting longer distances in order to buy homes they can afford.”

Active in residential, new home, land and investment property sales, Herman served as 2004 president of the Tallahassee Board of Realtors, and currently serves as a trustee for FAR. She also serves as an appointed member of the Leon County Housing Finance Authority and was a former board member of Tallahassee Habitat for Humanity.

Herman brings extensive civic experience to her role as FAR district vice president. “As a former mayor and city commissioner in Tallahassee, my knowledge of government has helped me learn how to get people involved,” she says. “My dad and mom were very active in the community as I was growing up, and they inspired me to give back as much as possible.”

As a FAR vice president, Herman will focus on Realtor® education, training and involvement in vital housing-related issues in the region. As real estate professionals, Realtors® seek to improve the availability and affordability of housing, while helping people from all walks of life achieve the American dream.

The Florida Association of Realtors®, the voice for real estate in Florida, provides programs, services, ongoing education, research and legislative representation to its more than 155,000 members in 68 local boards/associations throughout the state.
