ORLANDO, Fla., February 2017 – Barry Grooms, co-owner of Sarabay Real Estate Inc. in Sarasota and Manatee counties, is the 2017 treasurer of Florida Realtors®, the state’s largest professional association with 165,000 members.

A leader in regional, state and national real estate associations, Grooms has been active with the Realtors® Association of Sarasota/Bradenton, serving as president, vice president, treasurer, secretary and director. He is a former district vice president of Florida Realtors, and has been a leader for its public policy and advocacy committees and forums. Grooms is an ethics instructor for the National Association of Realtors® (NAR), and has been a member of NAR’s Commercial Presidential Advisory Group. He also serves as a key contact for Florida Realtors with state legislators, helping to provide information and research on issues important to all Floridians.

In the community, Grooms is a member of the Children’s Miracle Network and FELT (Feeding Empty Little Tummies). He has also been active with the Midtown Manatee Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and other business and civic organizations.

As treasurer for the state association, Grooms will focus on enhancing Florida Realtors’ services, support, and advocacy programs for real estate professionals. “I want to provide the highest level of support to our statewide team of real estate professionals,” he says. “Our members can take pride in serving as trusted advisors to their customers and leaders in their local communities.”
